Summer Store Feature: The Pub

It’s safe to say that the city of Cincinnati is ready for a summer of fun. With restaurants up and running after two summers Covid safety protocols, it’s time for some happy hours and celebratory meals at The Pub.

A Rookwood restaurant staple, The Pub serves British bites and beverages all day long, every day of the week. With locations in nearby Beavercreek, Ohio and Crestview Hills, Kentucky, as well as in Florida and Tennessee, The Pub patrons enjoy an authentic English holiday feel without ever leaving their hometown.

There is no bar experience quite like the British Pub experience at The Pub. When you walk in, you’re greeted with an ambiance that transports you across the pond. From the eye-catching British bar to themed staff uniforms, it’s a truly immersive experience.

While we love posting up at the classic English bar, we are so ready for patio season at The Pub. No matter if you love soaking up the sun or staying indoors, The Pub has a space that will suit you. The Pub bar area features indoor bar seating that faces the patio so you can stay cool and comfortable while enjoying Cincinnati summer. But even if you opt for an outside table doesn’t mean you will miss out on the UK vibes. The open-air bar area creates a real community feel that’s true to its roots.

When you visit The Pub, you’ll have a complete bar selection to choose from. Here, you can discover fine ales and lagers from across the pond as well as enjoy your local craft favorites. From English Pale Ales to seasonal draughts, cocktails to wine, there is something for everyone. As for food, you really can’t go wrong with any one of the menu items. We recommend you sample one of their “Mainstays,” especially their Fish and Chips. This British staple features beer-battered haddock that’s served with house-made tartar sauce, creamy coleslaw and chips, aka french fries.

The Pub’s Fish and Chips are so awesome that they were named the “Best Fish and Chips in the U.S.” by Greene King Brewing, Britain’s largest brewer and pub retailer. The regular size is massive, making it the perfect thing to share, especially if you want to try another menu item like the classic Shepherd’s Pie. This London-approved dish combines beef and lamb in a bordelaise sauce with peas and carrots, smashed potatoes, mozzarella-provolone, parmesan breadcrumbs and is served with a side salad.

As you indulge in these British-themed eats, be sure to leave room for dessert. Their whiskey bread pudding is truly a treat. It’s a custard-based bread pudding that’s topped with whiskey sauce and raisins and is served with vanilla bean ice cream.

Not only can you expect Brit-approved dishes at lunch and dinner, you can enjoy brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m at The Pub. We recommend the “Hold the Hangover Bowl,” which is a cure-all dish complete with scrambled eggs and biscuits, topped with cheddar, chopped bacon and country gravy and served with roasted potatoes. You can even add their Buttermilk Fried Chicken or Nashville Chicken. If that doesn’t quite do the trick, Nick’s Signature Bloody Mary or one of “Cincinnati’s Best Mimosas” will.

If you’re looking for an excuse to get the group together, there are plenty of events to choose from at The Pub:

  • Post-work Happy Hour is Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., featuring $2 off all draught beer selections, discounted appetizers and more.
  • Come out for Monday Trivia Night at 6:30 p.m. every week to compete for door prizes and cash as you enjoy your favorite pints.
  • Enjoy live music weekly.

We hope to see you at The Pub soon. Whether for brunch, lunch or happy hour, The Pub is the perfect hub for all. Check out all their upcoming events on their website or on their Facebook page.
