Our community of shops and restaurants have been eager to reopen since closing our doors to help flatten the curve. And now, many at Rookwood Commons & Pavilion are reopening, with caution, of course. While things have been changing rapidly in Cincinnati, across the state, and throughout the world since March, one thing that won’t be rushed during this time is the process of reopening at Rookwood Commons & Pavilion.

Some of our shops and restaurants have stayed open over these last few weeks as “essential” businesses, including Whole Foods and The UPS Store. With Governor Dewine’s approval, retail stores that fell in the “non-essential” category were permitted to reopen on Tuesday, May 12th. Since then, the following Rookwood Commons & Pavilion stores opened their doors for the first time in weeks:

  • Bath and Body Works
  • AT&T
  • GNC
  • T-Mobile
  • West Elm
  • Sur La Table
  • Shoe Carnival
  • Talbots
  • Gap
  • Churchill’s Fine Teas
  • DSW Shoes
  • Francesca’s Collection
  • GameStop
  • Carter’s
  • TJ Maxx
  • Homegoods
  • Fawn Candy
  • Stein Mart
  • Claire’s Boutique (May 25)
  • Cyclebar (May 26)

In addition to in-store shopping, curbside pickup became available at a few of the previously listed shops, as well as the following:

  • Rally House
  • Ulta Salon
  • DSW Shoes
  • Joseph Beth Booksellers
  • Bed Bath & Beyond
  • Yankee Candle
  • Carhartt
  • Maverick’s Chocolate

Like retail shops, many of our community’s restaurants are slowly starting the reopening process. But it won’t look like a typical lunch hour or dinner date night for a little while. For now, The Pub at Rookwood plans to open its patio on May 15th and its dining area with limited seating on May 21st. Others are expected to follow shortly after. Yagoot J. Alexander’s

If you prefer to eat in the comfort of your home, curbside pickup and delivery options are readily available:

  • The Pub at Rookwood
  • BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse
  • Buca Di Beppo
  • Qdoba
  • F. Chang’s
  • Donatos
  • Longhorn Steakhouse
  • Five Guys Burgers and Fries
  • Alexander’s
  • Potbelly Sandwich Works
  • Buffalo Wild Wings

The health of our customers and workers is so important to all of us at Rookwood Commons & Pavilion That’s why every store will be following Governor Dewine’s five-step guideline, no matter if customers are briefly stopping by or are staying for a full shopping experience. His recommendation says:

  • Employees and customers are encouraged to wear face coverings.
  • Employee health assessments should be completed daily.
  • Personal hygiene with plenty of handwashing should be a top priority.
  • Store surfaces should be regularly cleaned and sanitized throughout the day.
  • Capacity should be capped at 50% of fire code allowance to maintain social distancing guidelines.

Not only is every employer and worker committed to following these guidelines for the wellbeing of all, our community is taking action beyond the five safety steps our governor outlined:

  • Barriers are being installed when social distancing is impossible.
  • Hand sanitizers are being made readily available in high-contact locations.
  • Signage is being posted to clearly communicate each shop’s safety measures that are to be followed while shopping.

We’re proud of the actions our shops and restaurants are taking to keep our community safe and healthy. For example, Lenscrafters is open and ready to provide emergency services. Huntington Bank and Third Federal Savings & Loan are available by appointment. And, we’re loving the creative solutions each shop and restaurant has come up with in these times, like Chico’s. This women’s retailor is offering online appointments with style experts.

Over the next few days and weeks, more restaurants and shops will continue to open. One of the most highly anticipated reopening’s will be our salons: European Wax Center, Pump Salon (May 24th) and Mitchell’s Salon and Day Spa.
