As we enter the season of thanks, we can’t help but feel all the feels when thinking about how our community came together in such trying times. We couldn’t have made it to this point without the caring community support. And, continuing to support one another will go a long way. We are still in this journey together, but let’s all take the time to give thanks to our local community members who carried us through the whirlwind of a pandemic journey that continued throughout 2021.

Thank you to our…

Caregivers, for supporting us when we needed them most.

From nurses to nannies, you all have taken great care of us at our most vulnerable times. Cincinnati-area nurses have helped us stay healthy and happy through the pandemic, which is something we all took for granted in years’ past. And, our kids’ sitters have helped us adults stay sane and maintain some sort of normalcy as we juggled new work arrangements and ever-changing schedules. This year, more than ever, we understood the meaning of “it takes a village.”

Chefs, for helping us eat well, even from a carry out container.

When we want to simultaneously avoid the crowds and our kitchens, our local chefs have been there to keep us well-fed. We are especially thankful for our Rookwood restaurants, who expanded their dining experience offerings. From traditional dine-in to convenient carry out and delivery, we loved being able to enjoy our favorite tastes of Rookwood from many safe locations.

Show your thanks: Gather a group of friends for a Friendsgiving meal. Whether you dine at home or in your favorite Rookwood restaurant’s dining room, your business is the best way to show your gratitude.

Store Associates, for making it easier to get the things we needed, when we needed it.

Throughout the entire year, our store teams have come out and worked hard so that all of us in the Rookwood family could enjoy the simple pleasures of shopping. We will be forever grateful for their solutions that have helped us continue to get all of our necessities conveniently and safely. Their creative health and safety measures have included everything from easy curbside pickup to effortless grocery delivery. Most of all, we are thankful for the chance to safely gather as a community back in the stores.

Show your thanks: Shop local and continue to follow any and all safety measures in place and encourage fellow shoppers to do the same.

Teachers, for giving your heart and soul to educate our children, both on-screen and in the classroom.

We can’t say enough for all the good that our local educators did for our school-aged children throughout the pandemic. Kids and adults alike appreciated the incredible effort they’ve made to continue educating in uncertain times, even when that meant teaching in a completely new environment.

Show your thanks: Help your kids’ teachers re-energize with a caffeine-filled gift from Starbucks or Maverick Chocolates.

Stylists, for making us feel beautiful, even when we were just taking Zoom calls with our video turned off.

Whether it’s a talented makeup artist at Mitchell’s Salon and Day Spa or expert hair colorist at Pump Salon, these men and women gave us the pampering we needed to feel like ourselves. Most of us might have adopted a more casual look, but we still appreciate the luxurious pampering that comes with a salon service from a trusted stylist.

Show your thanks: Gift your friends and family gift cards to spread the word about your stylist’s incredible service. Or, stock up on a few for yourself.

We all have plenty to be grateful for this year. And we at Rookwood Commons and Pavilion feel especially grateful to all of you. Thank you for continuing to be such a special part of our community. Your smiles, even when behind a mask, make our day!
