If you’re like many of us here at Rookwood Commons & Pavilion, you’ve gained the dreaded “quarantine 15” this year. It’s a relatively common phenomenon that has plagued people nationwide, given the fact that there has been a lot less daily movement and a lot more visits to the fridge from our home offices. If you’re ready to fall back into fitness, that “quarantine 15” can be worked off at our very own CycleBar indoor cycling studio.

CycleBar Hyde Park, located right in the Rookwood Commons & Pavilion shopping center, is more than an indoor cycling studio. In each ride, attendees take a journey of self-discovery, uncovering inner strength and power.

You don’t have to be an expert cyclist to take this journey in a CycleBar class. Their indoor cycling rides are designed for all fitness levels with a mission of empowering and inspiring every rider. And trust us on this one, their instructors will always empower, inspire, and so much more. Known as “CycleStars,” these powerful people provide relatable, reflective cues that encourage you to push yourself to your absolute edge – often further than you ever thought possible.

You’ll feel that genuine care the moment you walk into the door. The CycleBar team will take care of everything, providing everything from complimentary filtered water, snacks, lockers that have coded keypads for easy access and safe storage for all of your belongings, hair ties, wet clothing bags, and other toiletries for you to use. They even offer cycling shoes for every class. Of course, you’re welcome to bring your own, just make sure to call ahead to ensure they’re compatible with the CycleBar pedals.

All you just need to show up ready to ride.

But how do you join CycleBar? They break it down on their website, step by step:

    • Step 1: Fuel Up
You don’t want to ride on an empty tank, so we recommend that you hydrate with plenty of water and a light snack.

    • Step 2: Sign In
Before your first ride, you need to sign a waiver. If you are under 18, you need one signed by a parent in person.

    • Step 3: Gear Up
Please arrive at the studio 10-15 minutes before your ride, so we can give you a tour of the studio and introduce to your CycleStar.

    • Step 4: Jump On
Our team will help to outfit you with shoes, and adjust your bike. Water-check! Towel-check! You’re ready to rock your ride!

    • Step 5: Get Moving
Follow your CycleStar’s lead and let the music carry you through the ride. We never judge and it’s ok to sit when you feel like doing so.

    • Step 6: Keep Track
After your ride we’ll send you an email with your performance stats and of course, the playlist to keep you rocking your day!

While every class is considered open level, most start with CycleBar’s Classic or Connect class. Their other classes include:

  • Performance – perfect for the more competitive rider.
  • Empower – where mind and body meet on the bike.
  • Xpress – a thirty minute rhythm-based ride.
  • CycleGives – donation-based classes with proceeds for your favorite causes.

No matter what class you take, you can modify to meet your fitness level. And, you can be sure that your health and safety will be protected. They offer contactless payments, hand sanitizer, and sanitizing after every ride and require masks and social distancing.

If you’re not quite ready to join an in-studio class, you can still get the incredible health benefits that come with a traditional CycleBar membership with their new CycleBar Go. For just $19.99 per month, you have access to incredible Cyclestars from all CycleBar locations at all times of day. All you need is a device, access to WiFi, and a stationary bike to get the CycleBar experience at home. To learn more about CycleBar, visit their website here. We’ll see you on the bike, soon!
