Happy Women’s History Month, Cincinnati!
No matter your background or gender, March is the perfect month to give your best gal pals, hardworking boss-babes and beloved sisters some well-deserved appreciation.
All the shops and restaurants at Rookwood Commons and Pavilion will be celebrating local women all month long, but Tuesday, March 8th will be especially special. Next Tuesday is International Women’s Day. Local businesses and organizations across the world will be taking part in celebratory events to honor the achievements of women.
We here at Rookwood Commons and Pavilion would like to invite you to celebrate the women in your life along with us. Here are three ideas to get you started:
1. Listen to Her Story
This annual month of awareness highlights women’s experiences and contributions over the years. We always think a dinner out is a great opportunity to learn from others, which makes a reservation at a Rookwood restaurant the perfect time to kick off your International Women’s Day celebrations. Consider which of the women in your life that you’d like to learn from the most and invite them to a steak dinner at Redlands Grill or casual cocktails at The Pub.
- If you’re a working woman, invite a more senior leader in your organization for some one-on-one mentorship over a meal. Keep it casual and comfortable, there’s no need to make it a high-pressure, rehearsed conversation. Instead, simply savor the chance to learn from the women who have paved the way for female professionals like you.
- If you’re a man, get your loved ones together for a family style meal at Buca di Beppo and ask them to share their experiences with you. You may not have experienced their journey firsthand, but hearing from the women in your life at your favorite Rookwood restaurant is a wonderful way to start to understand.
If you’re a stay at home mom, invite fellow moms to a kid-free brunch at First Watch. This girls’ day out will be both fun and supportive as you spend time with women who are in the same stage as you.
2. Honor Her Strength
Women’s History Month reminds us how strong women are. Let the ladies in your life show off their strength in a group fitness class at Club Pilates. When you schedule a class with your favorite workout buddy, you will show her you care about her well-being while you get a great workout in yourself.
We love the range of classes offered at Club Pilates and the incredible instructors who lead them. From their lengthening and restoring “Center + Balance” class to their high-intensity strength training “F.I.T.” class, you can find something for every girlfriends’ fitness level. Working through physical challenges side by side will be motivating and inspiring. Trust us, you won’t want to give up when your best girls are by your side.
While we love the approachability of this studio, keep in mind, the team at Club Pilates recommends you take an intro class if you’re new to the studio and the Pilates method.
3. Treat Her Like the Queen She Is.
Every hardworking woman you know deserves a little TLC in honor of Womens’ History Month. There’s no better place than Mitchell’s Salon & Day Spa. After all, this locally owned spa has been voted “Best Spa” for the last two years for a reason.
If you’ve been putting in overtime yourself, why not make March 8th a spa day with your best ladies? From facials to full-body treatments, there is a treatment suited for every woman in the most relaxing setting. Even the busiest women can make time for some self-care on International Women’s Day with Mitchell’s very own “20-Minute Remedy.” Believe us, every service is an indulgent treat, no matter how long you stay.
To all of our Cincinnati women, we hope you have a wonderful Women’s History Month! We’ll see you at Rookwood Commons and Pavilion, ready to celebrate.
