After being stuck with mundane, more of the same for nearly two years, you’ll be pleased to know that you won’t be stuck with just one trend to choose from in 2022. This year is all about variety, which means each and every person can make their own personal style statement. Today, we share 10 of the top trends we can’t wait to try.

Leisurewear

This trend is holding strong as our do-everything-from-home lifestyle is expected to continue throughout 2022. Top brands have caught on to the average person’s desire for comfortable everyday wear and have come up with chic athletic gear that are runway-ready and work-from-home fab. We love how versatile this trend is, even if the most active thing you do in your leisurewear is peruse the grocery aisle.

Functional Outerwear

Like leisurewear, outerwear is predicted to be in-style all year long. Thanks to an ever-increasing desire to get out of the house and into nature, designers are responding with stylish, technical gear that’s fit for the great outdoors and everyday streetwear.

Boxy Blazers

On the other end of the style spectrum, blazers are about to have a real moment. (We told you this year is all about versatility.) As many have begun to work in the office again after attending virtual meetings in pajamas for nearly two years, professional structure is being welcomed with open arms. But the 2022 blazer is anything but stuffy. Think bold, oversized jackets with an androgynous feel and plenty of room to layer.

Polished Shorts

Tops aren’t the only piece getting a polished makeover. This year’s shorts style is moving away from denim cutoffs and embracing a more tailored finish. Like blazers, the modern short style will be longer and fuller, complete with a snug cinch at the waist. This fresh short style can easily go from day to night, unlike the skin-tight, Daisy Duke-like silhouette of previous years.

Transitional Footwear

Now that we’re all heading out on the town more than we have in months, this year’s footwear trends will be the perfect balance of comfort and style. Think ballerina flats and mules that transition seamlessly from work to weekend, block heels and platform slides that make the adjustment back to heels a bit easier, and craft sneakers that provide posh practicality

Standout Colors

When it comes to trending colors, designers are really making a splash. Retro shades and mod black-and-white combos will cover this year’s clothing. We’re especially excited about striking patterns like graphic stripes and playful polka dots that will bring some much-needed fun to our wardrobes.

90s-Approved Crop Tops

Color isn’t the only thing that’s taking a trip down memory lane. Tops in 2022 will get a Britney Spears-worthy refresh, both in casual wear and dressy. We’re seeing a range of cropped looks, like tiny bralettes and flowy tees, that skim the waistline.

High-Rise, Wide-Legged Pants

Tops might be getting smaller, but our pants are getting more voluminous. Skinny jeans slowly made their way out of style in 2021. This year, we expect them to officially take a backseat to wide-legged pants. From flared to baggy, flowing pant style is really making moves this year.

Jumpsuits

One piece that creates a snugger silhouette is the ever-popular jumpsuit. Known for comfort and versatility, the jumpsuit has been a wardrobe staple for a few years. But the jumpsuit of 2022 is more like a catsuit, skin tight and sleek from top to bottom.

Statement Accessories

Now that there is an increased desire to dress up again, designers are playing up accessories. True to this year’s style, there’s something for everyone: dainty layered chains, chunky hoops, and vintage sunglasses are just a few of our favorites.
